Visiting Malaga this summer? Want both a relaxing beach atmosphere but also try local food? Book a tourist apartment in mijas or maybe book tourist apartments in riviera del sol beach to get all the fine cuisine of the area and have a great time at the beach. Here are a few traditional dishes of the area you must try during your stay.
Gazpachuelo Malagueño- Not your abuelas gazpacho. This soup is served hot with pieces of fish and does not have tomatoes. Great soup for tourists that may not be accustomed to cold soup.
Tarta Malagueña- This cake is typical of the region and is made with almonds, raisins and wine. Goes great with a cup of coffee after dinner or as an afternoon pick me up. A lttle bit of advice for tourists, Spainards call cake “tarta” so be wary of what you order. This is not a pie, it is cake.
Fritura Malagueña- Fried Fish! Need anything else? Pescaito frito is best enjoyed in Malaga on a beach side restaurante with a cold beer in hand.
Ensalada Malagueña- This is a potato salad typical of the area that includes cod and oranges in the recipie. Great side dish or appetizer.
